Venus Simone Rogers: 2018 North Carolina Youth of the Year

Havelock Club 2018 Youth of the Year is a student at Havelock High School.  Venus Simone Rogers, “Simone,” as she likes to be known has been a member of the Havelock Club since September 2013; from the start, Simone has demonstrated wonderful qualities of character and leadership. Simone is a member of her high school Beta Club and Lacrosse team.  She is a positive role model to her peers and younger members alike.  Often, she has taken it upon herself to engage younger members in meaningful activities like starting a gardening club and general arts programs, which helps them, grow socially and emotionally; her peers, volunteers and Club staff look forward to her future successes and accomplishments, Simone can often be heard saying; “Anyone can do anything, coming from anywhere.”
