Haley McCauley: 2022 North Carolina Youth of the Year

Boys & Girls Clubs of Cabarrus County is proud to announce Haley M., has been chosen as the 2022 State Youth of the Year. Youth of the Year has been Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s premier recognition program, celebrating the extraordinary achievements of Club members.

Haley, a senior at Northwest Cabarrus High School has been an active member of the Club for many years. She started attending the Club in Elementary School. She started playing volleyball at the Club at age 8 and it led to playing at the AAU level in high school. As she got older, she became a member of the Keystone Club and eventually became the Vice-President. She also became an employee of the Club.

At Northwest Cabarrus High School, Haley achieved a 3.97 gpa and participated in their AFJROTC program. She won the award as the Outstanding Cadet. Haley plans to attend Liberty University

Two words that describe Haley are determined and honest. Her quote about the Club: “I come as I am and the Club accepts that, they embrace that, and they do this for everyone who walks through its doors.”
